Shocking GOAT Revelation: Ex-Man Utd Star Giuseppe Rossi’s Surprising GOAT Pick in the Endless 10-Year Debate

GOAT

Former Manchester United and Italy striker Giuseppe Rossi has joined in on the never-ending discussion about who is the greatest footballer of all time (GOAT): Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. In an interview with DAZN, Rossi, who played with Ronaldo at Old Trafford and faced Messi several times during his time in Spain, regarded the Argentine as the greatest player ever.

Rossi’s Perspective about the GOAT

Rossi noted that Messi and Ronaldo contribute unique talents to the game, making direct comparisons difficult. However, he emphasized that Ronaldo’s primary concentration has been on scoring goals since converting from winger to one of the world’s top nines.

Rossi, on the other hand, admires Messi’s analytical approach to the game, which allows for more play and involvement from teammates. He admires Messi’s ability to drop deep and impact the game from many places on the pitch, a skill that some fans may ignore or underestimate.

“Ronaldo went from a winger to being the best number nine on the planet, scoring goals is all he cares about. Messi is a goalscorer but he facilitates and I appreciate that as a player who likes to come deep and get the ball. He’s a more cerebral player, Messi and therefore some people don’t understand that part of the game, right? Those who do appreciate it more. So that’s why I lean more towards watching Messi play. It’s all about preference. I was lucky enough to have the privilege of playing against them during that era in Spain.”

Rossi told DAZN.

Current Scenarios

Messi and Ronaldo have recently taken on new challenges in their careers. Messi joined Inter Miami in Major League Soccer (MLS), and Ronaldo signed with Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League after leaving Manchester United.

Fans excitedly anticipate their forthcoming matches as they continue to make history in football, with Messi’s Inter Miami facing the New England Revolution and Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr against Al-Khaleej on the same day (Saturday).

The GOAT issue is unlikely to be resolved anytime soon, but Rossi’s point of view adds another layer to the continuing debate, showing the various characteristics that distinguish Messi and Ronaldo in their own unique ways.
